Song of the day: Please Don’t Say You Love Me by Gabrielle Aplin
This is totally different from the stuff I usually listen to.
Meaning:
I personally think this song is about being afraid to fall, or to go too far; the fear of commitment, maybe. Saying that you love someone is a big thing, it’s not a phrase that should be thrown around, it’s something you say if you should truly mean it.
Why I like it:
Like all songs I choose, it’s a song I can relate too. I’ve been in numerous relationships and every time they said the three magic words, I would feel a pit i my stomach. I’m rather skeptical of love in general. I always felt like they didn’t mean it and that they would leave. And because of that, I usually pushed them away, or closed up. It’s not that I didn’t have feelings for them, it’s just that I was scared and insecure. If the guy I have feelings for ever said he loved me, I have no idea what I would do. This song kind of sums that up for me.
